A big thank you to Country & Townhouse editor, Lucy Cleland, for the fabulous three page feature with our favourite American potter, designer and author, Jonathan Adler - this has truly made our week!
In the April issue, Jonathan shares his inside tips on everything from design and interiors to his must-visit shops and restaurants in his home city of New York, and across the pond here in London, where he has two stores. He even gave our locale, Notting Hill, a shout out, as a stop-off on his ‘perfect London day’!

Original BTC and Davey Lighting made the most of their Focus display window at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour by showcasing their superb range of Rise & Fall pendants - the workhorses of the lighting world. The display included bone china, prismatic glass, polished copper, brushed steel and polished aluminium pendants - a testament to the Original BTC Group's manufacturing skills here in the UK.

Over 500 brands launched SS15 collections at London Design Week during the six-day event this week. Portrait were on hand with client Original BTC, who showcased their fabulous rise and fall lighting range, and enjoyed it all thoroughly.
With our trend-spotting hats firmly in place, we threw ourselves into the fray and noted the following themes - tropical and spring greens were in abundance alongside cool pastels and striking animal prints - in fact the whole building resembled a rather chic Noah's ark with topiary giraffes playfully adorning the atriums.
Best event award goes to the Masterpiece/World of Interiors party at the Design Club - we are already looking forward to the next round in September.

We were over the moon when we opened Baby London this month! Our lovely bespoke Steiff teddy bear was the star of the show in an 11 page Royal-inspired shoot. Our favourite shot can be seen left, which also features the adorable Nutcracker teddy bear.

It was a case of 'the more the merrier' this Monday morning here at Portrait Towers as we opened the weekend’s papers and came across page…after page…after page of glorious client coverage tumbling into view (with accompanying cries of delight). Whether it was pastel sidetables from Content by Terence Conran splashed across The Sunday Express’ S Magazine or Jonathan Adler’s Lucite Amoeba sculpture above Sofas & Stuff’s zingy tangerine Alwinton sofa in The Mail on Sunday’s You Magazine (or Wild & Wolf’s new birdhouse singing on ‘Stella Loves..’ ) we didn’t know where to look first…weekends like this make all the hard work truly worthwhile and we even broke out the chocolates to continue the feast!

Portrait is proud to announce that the Original BTC Group has been selected for The Leap 100, a new initiative from City AM newspaper and Mishcon de Reya solicitors, identifying the top 100 fastest growing, most exciting companies to watch in the UK.
The Group, which comprises lighting brands Original BTC, Davey Lighting and Beadlight, plus Branksome China, English Antique Glass and Bowles & Bowles furniture, works tirelessly to launch new brands and rescue struggling heritage brands and factories here in the UK. MD Peter Bowles and Director/son Charlie design and manufacture the Group's products at their own factories in Birmingham, Stoke on Trent and Oxfordshire.
Having recently opened their first international showroom in Paris and welcomed Prime Minister David Cameron at their Oxfordshire HQ, Messrs Bowles clearly deserve the accolade!

We were very excited to get a sneak preview of the cover of Selina Lake’s new book ‘Winter Living’, featuring Talking Tables honeycomb decs! The giant hanging bauble cluster looks particularly dramatic and we love the metallic and cream honeycombs tied to the chairs. This will be Selina’s sixth book and we’re looking forward to reading it when it officially launches in Autumn 2015.

We were particularly thrilled by You Magazine's glamorous Hollywood shoot this weekend - Team Portrait tried to play 'Spot the Jonathan Adler cocktail table and chair'.... But unfortunately the game was a little too easy... With thanks to stylist Nicole Gray.

We headed across the Channel to Paris last week, where American designer, author and potter Jonathan Adler was showcasing his groovy new SS15 collection at Maison et Objet. Think Jackie O in Capri meets Halston’s 70s Olympic Tower apartment – and you have some serious glamour going on. We’re très excited about the luxe Hayworth settee, the tough allure of the Jacques pendant, the twinkly classique Malachite vases in purple and teal, the crafty Danish-inspired fish bowls, and the surreal giant lucite hand – after all doesn’t everyone need an objet in their life? We can’t wait for the new collection to drop here in the UK over the coming months.

We were super excited to check out the Wild & Wolf newness at Top Drawer. We have our green fingers on The Thoughtful Gardener range – our top picks are the classic plant mister and the ever-so-chic bug motel. For a more retro look, there are three V&A prints from the museum archives in a fabulous mid-century palette of mustard, turquoise and green on new garden tools, pots and home accessories. For mini gardeners, check out the Little Thoughtful Gardener’s paint-your-own bird house and feeder sets, a fork and trowel, and a super stylish apron and gloves to make sure aspiring Rachel de Thame’s look the part. Coming indoors, we also got a sneak preview of the new Mini Moderns range, launching in May, featuring colourful enamel accessories for the kitchen. SS15 is certainly looking bold, bright and beautiful over at Wild & Wolf!
