We’re glued to the concluding series of Mr Selfridge on ITV. Having featured in the inaugural series, we’re absolutely delighted that heritage German toy manufacturer Steiff is once again making an appearance. In the final series, a group of young orphans are invited to the store by Harry Selfridge to be read extracts from Winnie-the-Pooh by author A. A. Milne. Historically, the literary link is entirely accurate as illustrator EH Shepard’s iconic illustrations of the pot-bellied bear were based on his son’s Steiff teddy, Growler. At the end of the reading each child is given a Steiff teddy bear as a keepsake of their magical afternoon. Tune in tonight to make sure you don’t miss out on this bear-y lovely episode.

Another January, another fantastic show at Maison et Objet for British manufacturing champions Original BTC. Several gorgeous new collections were on display including the sleek, 1960s inspired Walter table and pendant lights in brushed satin copper and now - stop press!! - in glamourous brass, complete with twistable dimmer switch. With Valentine's Day on the horizon, we may just have to invest...

It was a day of Modern American Glamour as Jonathan Adler previewed his new collection at Maison et Objet, featuring sleek black lacquer, surreal details, warm, natural woods and of course plenty of brass. We have our eye on the sexy St Germain chair with corset-style back, the Globo table with jewel accents and the Eve mirror complete with extending fingers. Ooh la la indeed!

We may well have been wrapped up in hats and woolly jumpers but we certainly felt all tropical as we headed outside for the Talking Tables SS16 shoot, styled by the fabulous Selina Lake and photographer, Debi Treloar. We’ve got our eye on the bright pineapple cups, fluorescent animal decorations and we can’t wait for the next party here at Portrait to have an excuse to wear the seriously fun flamingo glasses!

It's only mid-November and already our Christmas has been made with the unveiling of the new Harrods window, featuring the magnificent Steiff for Christian Louboutin teddy bears. The iconic French and German brands teamed up to create these fabulous bespoke bears, featuring the fashion brand's distinctive red sole and an array of bear-y glamorous outfits to match the latest shoe and handbag collections. A truly collaborative effort, the project began with a meeting at Portrait Towers, swiftly followed by the French team heading to Germany to visit the factory to view samples, followed by an array of fantastical ideas from the creative genius himself. Red soles, sparkles and Steiff - what more could a girl want for Christmas?
